Tax season is here. If you need help with finding a computer to use to file your return the library has computers to use during our regular hours of business. The library cleans the history after uses that have important or secure information, just ask us. We can also help you to find the forms needed to complete your return if you wish to go with a paper return. Copies are $.25 each.

Last year, we brought fireworks back to Mount Rushmore for the first time in more than a decade. The celebration was a tremendous opportunity to showcase our state to the world, and I am committed to continuing the celebration this year.
Read moreOn February 16, Avon freshmen, junior high, and sixth-graders participated in Science Fair in the auxiliary gym. The Science Fair was open to the public from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Awards were held at 8:00 p.m. Each individual or group used a trifold board or poster board to put their information on, and each individual or group presented their board to the judges.
Read moreOn Friday, February 12, the senior choir and band members (ALL GIRLS) went around to different towns to serenade someone’s special someone as a Sweetheart Serenade. For $10, Keely Bares, Megan Soukup, Cassie Stewart, Ali Sees, Kristen Namminga, and Natalie Zacharias would serenade your sweetheart to the tune of “The Way You Do the Things You Do.” They also performed “Amazing Grace” and “Jesus Loves Me” for nursing home residents in Lake Andes, Corsica, and Wagner.
Read moreEvery year the cheerleaders, under the guidance of Cheer Coach Becky Haenfler, prepare a Little Pirate Cheer Camp for elementary and junior high students to learn cheer skills and experience what it is like to be a cheerleader. This year, cheer camp was held on February 13, and the performance was on February 16 during the halftime of the boys basketball game against Gayville-Volin.
