BRUGUIER BRINGS IN MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER TO INSPIRE PEERS

Ayana Bruguier, senior JAG member of Wagner Community School was challenged by JAG Specialist, Renee Van Der Werff, to put together a project. A project that would benefit many people. She chose to do a project for her peers because she felt that this year has been hard on many people, especially when it comes to mental health and not being motivated to get things done. Ayana felt that bringing in a motivational speaker would be a way to encourage her peers. Her goal for her project was to impact at least one person, if one person was to be impacted by the speaker, then she would feel she accomplished with what she set out to do. After hearing all the stories and comments from her peers about how the speaker impacted them, made her heart feel overjoyed.

BOYS BASKETBALL

The Red Raider boys finished their regular season with a win over Beresford Monday night. Wagner got down early in the first quarter but played well the last four minutes and had a 17-12 lead after the first period. Wagner outscored Beresford 20-14 in the second period and led 37-26 at half time. The Red Raiders led 52-36 heading into the fourth period and at times stretched their lead to 22 points. Wagner won the game 68-47. Nolan Carda led the team with 17 points. Dustin Honomichl added 14 points and nine rebounds, Toby Zephier scored 14 points and had four assists, Simon Freier finished with 10 points, Marcus Zephier added four, Jayden Aungie three, Jaden Peters and Matt Link each added two. Wagner finishes the season 10-10. They will wait until the end of the week to find out who and when they play in the region tournament.

HOUSE BILL 1140 & TV HUNT SHOWS

At the time of this writing, it appears that House bill 1140 will become law. It will “handcuff game wardens” according to my friend John Cooper, former GF&P Secretary from 1995 to January 2007. I believe John, and I believe the former GF&P people who have been critical of the bill. Interim GF&P secretary Kevin Robling brought the bill forward at the request of Gov. Kristi Noem, and current conservation officers have been “silenced” from commenting on the bill by Sec. Robling and Gov. Noem.
