Among the challenges that military children face are constant moves, family separations and potential exposure to the aftereffects of war. In light of the Month of the Military Child, Wagner’s own Jazlyn Lhotak shared her experience as a military child of a deployed soldier.

However, they were stifled for the rest of the game and lost on a walk off single by Castlewood in the bottom of the fifth. Macy Voigt started the game for the Pirates. The starter gave up five hits and five runs over five innings, striking out five and walking four. Jordyn Voigt led Avon with two hits. Thury had two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Three huge defensive plays were made by Abby Gretschmann, Kaydence Metzger, and Lexi Vanderlei which helped keep the Pirates in the game. A spectacular combination grab of a fly ball between Lexi Vanderlei and Kaeli Wallinga ended the fourth inning.
