Luckily for Joey and Antoinette Cournoyer that is their current reality when it comes to their sons’ Carter, Joey and Brady. Senior twins, Carter and Joey, along with their brother, Brady, a junior, all play on the WCS Red Raider boys’ basketball team.

Braxton Nedved would chase their best player again all night and cause fits for the Thunder on the defensive end. She would finish with 3 points, and dish out 4 assists. Hayden Knudsen would round out the scoring with 2 points, and 2 boards. “Offensively we did a great job in transition. The guards pushed the ball and we got post buries for one on one opportunities. The shots just didn’t fall from the perimeter like they did on Tuesday at Hanson but there were so many that were in and out! Defensively we were a bit off and just didn’t do a great job of keeping them out of the paint. They hit some open looks where we left people open as that will happen when we are defensive scheming that way. We did give them 10 offensive rebounds where we only got 6. This has been a stretch now where we have played our 5th game in 8 days dating back to Jan. 25. It’s the point of the season where the wear and tear starts to play a little bit in the equation. Practices now will be short to the point and the girls have to get their rest on the off days!”

We did a great job of rebounding and controlled the glass 34-18. Our shooters knocked down shots for kick outs and reversals. We attacked the paint. A total different team when we do this. They did the same junk defenses we have seen in our past two losses but the girls were shot ready, and attack ready on offense. We didn’t stand around and watch the basketball. Great team effort!”
Read moreWagner Bon Homme gymnasts just missed making it to state as a team at the Region meet held in Hot Springs, SD Friday, February 2nd It came down to 3 tenths of a point tonight. These girls beat the final qualifying team in ALL EVENTS except bars. This event has continued to be the thorn in our side all season. Tonight, even with the gains we have made all season, this event was what separated us from the team day state competition, unfortunately. A huge shout out to Raelynn Kuhlman who literally stood as an extra security for some of her teammates tonight. It was heart-warming to see how much trust her teammates have in her. Trust and leadership are an important part of being a senior. These seniors all shared the part of leading this team in their own unique way. Thank you, girls! You will be missed. Although we did not make it as a team, both Alexys Rueb and Jasmine Ruelas-Gilbert earned their chances to compete all four events! Thank you again to all the gymnasts’ parents and families for the support you have given to your daughter, the team, and the coaches for all these years. We are all lucky to have such a great support system. Jasmine and Alexys… GO FINISH YOUR SEASON BY SHOWING WHAT YOUR CAPABLE OF ACCOMPLISHING!!!! We are all cheering you on!!
