Wagner Cancer Walk and Rummage President, Arlis Kafka, was presented with an $800 donation from the Wagner American Legion Auxiliary President, Alyssa Mathis. During the 2024 Wagner Cancer Rummage, the Wagner American Legion Auxiliary had a concession stand for both the volunteers to be able to have lunch/supper as well as anyone at the rummage or in the community. The donation was from the proceeds of the Auxiliary’s concession stand. The Auxiliary is hoping to make this an annual occasion in order to be able to help and donate more to this wonderful community organization.

The Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion was recited by all members. Commander Rados then called the meeting to order.

Andes Central students participated in the Voice of Democracy by writing an essay on a patriotic theme and expressing what democracy means to them. The local VFW District 7 Post completed their judging of the essays. Commander Merritt Stegmeier, representing the VFW, awarded Madeline Derry with 1st place and Madilyn Janis with second place. Their essays will go on to the state level for judging. Congrats Madeline and Madilyn!

Wednesday, November 20th, was a raw, blustery day in Wagner, South Dakota. The Wagner Rotary Club members braved the high winds to make it to the club building. Dana Sanderson, Michele Juffer, and Jean Crowe were guests for the meeting. Members were anxiously awaiting the arrival of the noon meal as there was a special program scheduled for the meeting.
