Mitchell, S.D. – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) announced the 2024 GPAC Volleyball All-Conference Team selections this morning. Kayleigh Hybertson gained First Team and GPAC Setter of The Year. All-Conference Second-team went to Lizzie Tyler and Honorable Mentions went to junior middle blocker, Emily Dale and senior outside hitter, Abby Brunsing.

Participants are asked to sign up and pay the entrance fee of $20 (which gets you a t-shirt and treats) at 12:30 p.m. that day in front of Jurrens Electronics. The race will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Jurrens Electronics being the starting point of the race. Following the Frozen Foot race, there will be the reading of a Christmas book and pictures with SantaattheAvonFireHallfrom2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. The Avon Fire Hallwillthenbetransformedintoa space for Christmas Bingo starting at 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Play your afternoon away with a one-time fee of $10 for two bingo cards. The AvonChamberofCommercewillbe sponsoringsomefantasticprizesfor the Bingo winners as well as a final Blackout Bingo game worth $250. O Daddy BBQ will be on site during bingo for anyone who gets hungry while playing. There will also be chili available from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Tolsma’s Cove.

Hours at the library for the Thanksgiving holiday are as follows: Tues., Nov. 26th 12:30-5:00 Wed., Nov. 27th 1:00-5:00 Thurs. & Fri., Nov. 28th & 29th Closed Sat., Nov. 30th 1:00-5:00 The Library will be doing three activities for the Holiday Happenings in Lake Andes on December 6th and 7th. First, we are sponsoring a scavenger hunt at local businesses, beginning at 3:30 on Friday, December 6th. Pick up Scavenger list at the library. Need a camera to complete. List is due back to the library at 1:00 on Saturday the 7th. A large pizza will be awarded for the top three winners.
