On September 18th, the Platte-Geddes/Andes Central /Dakota Christian Black Panthers competed at the Competitive Cheer Wagner Invitational. There were three other teams that participated in the invitational the Wagner Red Raiders, the Gregory Lady Gorillas and the Winner Area Warriors. Not only was it a cheer competition but also had several dance category competitions. In the Cheer category first place went to Winner, second place to Gregory, third place to Wagner and finishing in fourth place was Platte-Geddes/Andes Central/Dakota Christian. In the Jazz Dance competition first place went to the Platte-Geddes/ Andes Central Dakota Christian team. For the Hip Hop Dance category Gregory took first place followed by Winner with second. In the final category, Pom Dance Gregory finished first, followed by Platte-Geddes/Andes Central Dakota Christian and Winner coming in third. The Lady Gorillas won the title of Grand Champion in Dance. One aspect that really hurt the Platte-Geddes/Andes Central/Dakota Christian team is the number of injured team members. They currently have five injured. Although they have a significant number of cheerleaders injured, it did not stop the team from competing and showing off their skills and hard work.

Read moreOn Monday, September 11, Wagner held their local Cross Country Meet. It was a beautiful day for this meet. It was even more beautiful with all of our Cross Country members' parents/guardians in attendance. It was an afternoon to cheer on all the cross country members and to recognize their parents. The Senior Cross Country Members were also specifically given recognition- as this is their last year participating in Cross Country. Senior members of this year’s Cross Country Team include Jennifer Barnett, Jason Weston, Owen Bekanich, Caleb Zephier and Vincent Bechen. Most of these runners have been in Cross Country since the 6/7 grade. It is a pleasure to have such a great group of Senior Student Athletes to guide the younger runners on our team.
