The Wagner Community School’s Varsity golf team swung into their season on Friday, April 11th when they participated in the Class B Classic in Mitchell at Lakeview at 10:30 a.m. This meet was one of their toughest of the season.

The Avon Lady Pirates hosted a competitive softball tournament Saturday for a full day of action-packed games. Battling it out on their home field. It was a great day of competition and community spirit. The team should be proud of their strong performance and sportsmanship to end the tourney with 2nd place title.

Pria Sessler drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Pirates past Elkton/Lake Benton 16-4 on Saturday. Sessler singled in the first inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the fourth inning, scoring two.

The Pirates got on the board in the first inning after Rilyn Thury homered to center field, scoring two runs. They extended their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Pria Sessler and Voigt.
