Jolene Connor of Chesapeake, Virginia was a visitor for several days in the home of her mother, Carol Jurrens of Wisconsin were also visitors for several days of their aunt, Carol. Other visitors were Don and Cheryl DeJong of Forney, Texas; Mel and Carol Tjeerdsma of Maryville, Missouri; Duane and Linda Tjeerdsma of Springfield; Dennis and Dixie Jurrens, Nicole Jurrens of Sioux Falls; Loren and Laurie Jurrens, Lexie Jurrens and Livi Jurrens of Rapid City and her friend, Owen of Indianapolis, Indiana. They were all here to attend the celebration of Carol's 90th birthday on October 10. The First Baptist Church provided a dinner followed by and Open House for Carol. Guests were registered from Avon, Harrisburg, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, Springfield, Tyndall, Wagner, Yankton, Indiana, Missouri and Wisconsin.

Lexi finished in 15th with a time of 20:49 and Anna was close behind in 17th running 20:55. The girls gave their all, commented Coach Larry Lucas. It was a very competitive field of runners and most of them we had not run up against this year. I encourage anyone that can to come and cheer on all of the runners competiting at State. There are 6 races, three each for boys and girls and three Divisions - B, A, and AA.” The State Meet will be this Saturday, October 23, at the Yankton Trails Course in Sioux Falls. Start time for the Girls Class A Race is 12:30 pm.
