December 1st (Friday) has been set as the date for the annual Christmas Parade and Customer Appreciation Day in Lake Andes. Start now to plan a parade entry! “Christmas” is the theme this year for parade entries. Customer appreciation can be handled by each individual business and as they choose. The annual lighting of the Christmas Tree at the corner of 3rd Ave and Main Street is a highlight of the night. Drawings for hams and turkeys will also take place after the tree lighting. If you have a group that would like to organize a food sale or a craft fair that would be wonderful. Let’s make this the best Christmas Parade and Customer Appreciation Day to date!

During his high school years at Andes Central, Anaias has been involved in basketball, golf and the Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program. He has also volunteered his time and helped the Feeding America project. Cheeseburgers with fries is Anaias’ favorite school lunch and his favorite teacher in high school has been Ms. Keizer.

Although the national organization was formed in 1919, the Wagner American Legion Auxiliary Greer Unit 11 celebrated its 93rd year of service, having signed and dated their charter on April 12, 1930.

Read moreMacy Koupal signed her letter of intent Wednesday, November 8th to play basketball at Dordt University for her post secondary education. Macy has been a four year starter for the Red Raiders in both volleyball and basketball. She has made all-conference in basketball since her 8th grade season. She was also selected to both the Volleyball and Basketball All-Tourney teams at the state tournaments last season for the Raiders. Macy plans on double majoring in Biology and Business and going on to Optometry school. She excels in both the classroom and the courts, maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA, taking multiple dual credit classes each semester, and being a part of a number of school organizations. Courtesy Photo
