WAGNER ORAL INTERP RECAPS

On November 3, the Wagner Oral Interpretation team had their home performance in the school theater. This is the only showcase of the Oral Interp season and is open to the public. Like a play, there is no flash photography or recording during the performances. During competitions, students perform at the same time. Therefore, this showcase is the first time that many students can watch their peers’ performance. As a coach, it has been fun to watch each participants growth throughout the season. This event has always been a favorite and provides even more excitement prior to Regions because the students can finally watch each other perform, support and celebrate each other.

WCS STUDENTS RECOGNIZED FOR PATRIOTIC ESSAYS

The VFW Sponsored Voice of Democracy audio/essay contest and Patriot’s Pen Essay contest provides students from 6th to 12th grade with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed essay. The 2025 - 2026 theme, which is chosen by the National Commander, is “How Are You Showing Patriotism and Support for Our Country” This year we had 160 sixth thru eighth grade students enter the Patriot’s Pen contest and 134 ninth thru twelfth grade students enter the Voice of Democracy audio/essay contest. The rules allow 1 student to advance to District competition for every 15 essays that are submitted.
