ORAL INTERPRETATION INTERVIEW WITH ASHLEY TOLSMA

Ashley Tolsma is a Sophomore Oral Interp. participant at Avon High School. Ashely has competed in many competitions so far this year since the beginning of October. In the Harrisburg competition, she won superior plus and 2nd overall, then in Brandon Valley, she won 3rd overall. Most recently, she and her teammatescompetedatDSUin Madison and Ashley received 3rd overall.

Senior Spotlight

Kalee Ann Mixon was born on October 22, 2004. Her parents are Shawn and Penny Mixon, and her siblings are Kindra and Kaden. Kalee’s favorite subject in school is P.E., because it wakes her up in the morning. The most challenging task for Kalee as a senior is gettinggoodgradesandkeeping them that way. In Kalee’s sparetime,sheenjoyswatching Netflix, and playing video games as a hobby. An inspirational Bible verse she lives by is “I can do all things throughChristwhogivesme strength” (Philippians 4:13). Kalee’s favorite high school activity is basketball. One thing Kalee will remember forever about her time at AHS is, “The one time we made it one game away from state in basketball.”

On Friday October 21, the senior volleyball players were honored by the junior players for their final year of participation on the high school volleyball team. In addition to the seniors being honored, the cross country team and the entire volleyball team had parent’s night.

WAGNER CLAIMS 2022 SESD TITLE

The Wagner Volleyball team traveled to Winner on Saturday, October 22nd to compete in the SESD Conference Tournament. The Raiders went in ranked second by seed points. In the first round of pool play the Raiders faced Winner beating them in two straight sets with scores of 25-15 and 25-15. Then they went up against Bon Homme and won with scores of 25-11 and 25-10. After initial pool play the Lady Raiders were in the Championship Pool and would face two ranked programs Platte/Geddes and Burke. During the second round the Raiders swept Platte/Geddes 25-19 and 25-21 and then in the champion-ship match they battled with Burke and were crowned SESD champions with scores of 25-8, 17-25, and 25-22.
