LIBRARY NEWS

With the start of the new school the library is looking to develop programs which encourage reading at all ages. On the state level the South Dakota Library Association has a committee that nominates books for children in the following age ranges ; grades PreK-1 for Prairie Bud, grades 2-3 for Prairie Bloom, and grades 4-5 for Prairie Pasque. The library has invested in these 12 books for each age range and is currently developing an incentive program for those students who participate.

Howard Bich, a former teacher and coach at Wagner High School, recently competed at the National Senior Games in Des Moines, IA at age 85 1/2. He competed in the 85-89 age category and was awarded multiple gold and silver medals.
