KOUPAL’S BUZZER BEATER LIFTS WAGNER OVER SCOTLAND/MENNO

Michael Koupal made a shot as time expired for Wagner to get them past Scotland/Menno Thursday night. Wagner missed a free throw down by one with five seconds left, Ky Arpan grabbed the rebound and took a desperation shot, Koupal put the miss in the hoop at the buzzer for Wagner. The game was close throughout, Wagner led 12-9 after the first period and trailed 27-24 at the half. The Raiders got the lead back and led 42-41 heading into the final frame. The Trappers took a late lead only to see Wagner erase the deficit in the final minute. Ky Arpan led Wagner with 16 points, he also grabbed 8 rebounds. Michael Koupal had a double/double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Carlos Galindo scored 14 points, had 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals, Jesse Zephier scored 11 points and had 4 assists, and Leon Fields scored 2 points for Wagner.

JV BOYS PLAY CORSICA/STICKNEY

The JV boys team traveled to Corsica Tuesday night. Wagner jumped out to a 15-11 lead after the first period. The Jaguars outscored Wagner by three in the second period, the score at half tie was 24-23 in favor of Wagner. Both teams scored 8 points in the third period, Corsica Stickney did just enough in the fourth quarter to win the game 42-41. Payne Petry led all scorers with 15 points in the game. Colton Zephier and Jackson Woods each scored 10 for Wagner. AJ Kotab and Ron Knudsen each scored 3. The JV team will be in action again on Thursday at home against Scotland/Menno.
