My grandmother was a lively, caring, wonderful woman, who remained very active late in her life. One spring day, after an unusual April blizzard, she stepped out of her apartment on her way to her weekly bridge game. She fell on the ice, in an event that led to an open ankle fracture and changed the course of the remainder of her life.

Read moreConrad and Erma Meyer were guests last weekend in the home of their daughter, Karen, Haley and Rame Gearhart of Ramona. They celebrated Haley's 20th birthday. On Saturday, Conrad and Erma drove to Tabor where they were guests in the home of their son, Kevin, Sarah, Nate, Kallie and Leah Myer, Alex and Evan Sallee, and Bryleigh Payne. They celebrated Nate's 16th birthday.
