On Tuesday, April 27, the Wagner Track and Field team to the southeast corner of the state to compete in the Dakota Valley Relays. Despite the fact that the weather held true to form for the year, that of course being cold, windy, and rainy, there was much improvement on the track over previous meets. A different venue and different competition seemed to evoke a more competitive spirit in our athletes.
Read moreOn Saturday, May 1, Wagner took their track and field team to compete in the Andes Central Relays. For this coach, it was the first meet of the year where I could leave the stocking hat and sweatshirts at home as temperatures would reach into the low 90s. What a change.

Read moreBetsy and I just returned from a ten-day visit to our youngest daughter’s home in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico (aka Los Cabos). Cabo is on the very tip of the thousand-milelong Baha Peninsula beneath California. The Sierra de la Laguna Mountains separate the Sea of Cortez from the Pacific Ocean, and other than what has been developed, the very dry terrain is desolate brush and cactus. The temperatures ranged from the low 80’s during the day to 70’s at night. The wind, except on the water, was negligible.
Read moreThis has been an exhausting year for moms. Last spring, we had no idea we would still be dealing with this pandemic a year later. It presented difficult decisions, such as in-person school or remote learning, how to work from home while caring for children, or how to pay the bills without work, when to let children visit their grandparents, what to do for birthdays and holidays. Regardless of the decision made, it seemed someone somewhere was judging our choice. But I want you to know, I see you every day doing the best you can.
