The Red Raiders defeated the Miller Rustlers Friday night with a score of 39 to 28 to open up the season. The Raiders offensive attack was lead by senior running back Jhett Breen who rushed 23 times for 150 yards and 4 touchdowns. Sophomore QB Gannon Knebel also contributed 73 yards on the ground and a touchdown. Knebel was also able to compete 3-5 passes for 56 yards. One being a 15 yard catch and pass to Junior wideout Hunter Lhotak for a touchdown.

Twenty-eight teams qualified for the State Tournament. All four of the South Central League teams qualified for second round play – Lesterville, Menno, Crofton and Tabor. Included on the Tabor team was Nolan Carda of Wagner.
