Avon teeners opened their season hosting Freeman on Sunday May 22. Avon was held to four hits and three runs by experienced Freeman pitching, coming off of spring baseball. Leading hitters for Avon were Aziah Meyer and Trace Pelton with one hit each, Christian Doom hit a double and a single. John Fathke and Tyler Tjeerdsma each scored. Pitching for Avon were Landon Thury, Noah Watchorn, Devin Rucktaeschel, Christian Doom, and Tyler Tjeerdsma. Final score was 8-3 in favor of Freeman.
