On November 3, the Wagner Oral Interpretation team had their home performance in the school theater. This is the only showcase of the Oral Interp season and is open to the public. Like a play, there is no flash photography or recording during the performances. During competitions, students perform at the same time. Therefore, this showcase is the first time that many students can watch their peers’ performance. As a coach, it has been fun to watch each participants growth throughout the season. This event has always been a favorite and provides even more excitement prior to Regions because the students can finally watch each other perform, support and celebrate each other.

The Wagner volleyball team traveled to Chamberlain to take on the Winner Warriors in the SoDak 16 matchup. The Red Raiders came out swinging and battled every set finishing strong with a 3-1 win with scores of 25-21, 18-25, 25-16, and 25-13.

When I look back on the 2025 season of the Lake Andes Farmers Market, I will be grateful for the vendors who became a part of our Farmers Market family. We are not mighty, but we are committed to maintaining a market in Lake Andes. The market offers a time for socializing, learning about new techniques for gardening or food preservation or sharing a recipe for one of the vegetables or fruits we have for sale. It is also fun to see people of all ages visiting the market.

On November 1st, the four All-Staters: Lance Odens (bass), Lexi Vanderlei (soprano), Breanna Hento(alto),andSeanSchryvers(tenor),traveled to Sioux Falls, to sing 8 songs. Representing DC as a quartet at the Annual All-State Orchestra and Choir Concert were: Danae Feenstra, alto (daughter of Dustin and Val Feenstra); Brooklyn Hubers, soprano (daughter of Matt and Rachelle Hubers); Director Beth Maas; Ty Maas (son of Joel and Tracy Maas), tenor; and Jaden Faller (son of Dan and Rachel Faller), bass. Students spent Friday, October 31, and Saturday, November 1, practicing seven pieces of music, including two combined songs with the orchestra. The concert was performed Saturday evening at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls. Dr. Jeffery Redding was the guest choral director. Dr. Redding is a 2019 Grammy Music Educator Award recipient and is the Director of Choral Activities at the University of Florida. He is known for being passionate about finding unity through music, as was evident in his directing style and musical selections. (Concert is available for viewing on the SDHSAA website.)
