Happy Thanksgiving! The library will be closed on Thursday and Friday the 27th and 28th for the Thanksgiving holiday. We will open on Saturday, the 29th.

Read moreAmerican Legion Greer Post #11 held its monthly meeting on November 20 with 32 members and 3 SAL members in attendance. Commander Rados thanked the cooks for the delicious Thanksgiving meal as well as the Auxiliary for the cake celebrating the 106th anniversary of the American Legion. Happy birthday was sung by all for Greg Geiman who was celebrating his birthday today. Tony Krcil was the winner for the queen drawing but drew the 2 of diamonds instead. Chaplain Don Kotab gave the invocation which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion was recited by all members. Commander Rados then called the meeting to order.

Read morePresident Jamie Soukup brought the meeting to order Wednesday, November 12th and proceeded to lead the members in saying the Rotary Grace. Rotarian Rachel Woods announced that our song for the day would be The Battle Hymn of the Republic. The day before our meeting was Veterans Day which made our song even more meaningful.

The award is part of Carnegie Libraries 250, a special initiative celebrating the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and honoring the roughly 1,280 Carnegie Libraries still serving their communities across the United States.
