Funeral services for Stanford “Stan” Wayne Knudsen, 71, of Lake Andes were held Friday, October 13 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial was in St. Phillips Episcopal Cemetery in Lake Andes. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

StanfordWayneKnudsenwas born January 7, 1952 to Maxine White Lance and Alex Knudsen Sr. He made his journey October 8, 2023. He was the last of the Knudsen brothers out of seven.

Stanford attended Marty Indian School and later graduated from Todd County. He attended college in Lawrence, Kansas, where he enjoyed playing basketball.

Stanford worked at the Fort Randall Casino for 32 years as a security guard. He enjoyed his job, meeting new people, seeing old friends and joking around. He will be missed by many. Stanford went through heart surgery, kid-ney disease, knee surgery, and cancer. He was a true warrior.

He loved sports, especially basketball and football. In his younger days, he played softball with his brothers with The Blaze of Glory. They often played basketball and softball tournaments.

Stanford joins all his brothers: Alex, Dean, Brady, Matt, Melvin, and Ronnie; sisters Bertha “Bootz” Thomas and Linda Lou; his parents Maxine and Alex Knudsen.

He leaves to mourn his wife Connie Knudsen; two sons Wayne and Del Knudsen; two sisters Debbie Knudsen and Brenda Warrior; and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
