KIMBERLY HARE
Wake services for Kimberly Hare, 49, of Phoenix AZ, formerly of Wagner were held Friday at the American Legion Hall in Wagner. She was cremated following her services. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
Kimberly Ann Kezena Hare was born July 23, 1973 in Canton to Lillian Agnes Kezena and Leonard J Hare Jr. Kim lost a battle to Valley Fever and meningitis on June 28, 2023 at South Mountain Foot Acute Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
While growing up in Greenwood, Kim attended Wagner Community School in Wagner and St. Mary’s Episcopal School for Indian girls in Springfield. Later Kim attended Huron middle/high school in Huron and Flandreau Indian school in Flandreau. Kim attended Clearfield Job Corp Center in Clearfield, UT. Kimberly worked many and various jobs throughout her working years. She worked for many Yankton Sioux Tribal entities such as the Executive Secretary for the YST chairman, secretary at the Yankton Sioux Housing Authority and was also the Executive Secretary at our Ft. Randall Casino Hotel.
Kimberly welcomed her three warriors Khristian, Cannupa and Alexander. Kimberly became a proud grandma to Lillian Agnes- Mae and Kenji Apollo Gene. They were the light of her life. She loved video chatting with her grandkids. Kim was the grandma who always had candy and never said no. Kimberly was famous for traveling and making us laugh, giving us the time of our life. She loved teasing and joking around.
Kimberly is survived by her son Khristian Kezena of Moose Lake, MN, Cannupa Williamson and Alexander Kezena of Mitchell; husband Antonio Guzman of Wichita, KS; grandchildren: Lillian and Kenji of Morton, MN, Anais Cournoyer of Redwood Falls, MN, and Eric Cournoyer of Norfolk, NE; sisters: Sharol Cournoyer and family of Wagner, Michelle Huapapi and family of Sioux Falls, Shelly Bernie and family of Phoenix, AZ, Florence Hare and family, Thomasina Real Bird and family and Sade Hare; brothers: Darren Cournoyer Jr. and family of Wagner, Charles Kezena Sr. and family of Redwood Falls, MN, Curtis Huapapi and family of Wagner, Troy Huapapi and family of Sioux Falls, Loren Kezena Jr and family of Wagner and Danny Hare; special nieces and nephews: Aliceson, Isabel, Awna and Inissa Cournoyer, Eric, Anthony, Kelly, Adam and Antwone Cournoyer; and many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who she loved like siblings.
Welcoming Kimberly into the spirit world are her king and queen, her parents. Her prince and princess, Lilliana and Antonio; brother Leonard John Hare III; maternal grandparents Alice and Fred Kezena Sr.; and paternal grandparents Viola Feather and Leonard Hare Sr.
