A Celebration of Life for Dr. Wanda Kay Schirtzinger, DH., 78, of Lake Andes will be held at a later date. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.

Dr. Wanda Kay Schirtzinger, D.H., went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at her home in rural Lake Andes, after a long battle with cancer and liver problems.

Wanda was born April 14, 1943 to Wallace and Hazel (Crothers) Miller in Peebles, OH.

She met and married James Schirtzinger and five children were born to their union: James (Anna) of South Carolina, Sheri Sanderson of Richmond, TX, David of Manchester, OH, Sonja (Bill) Bats of Erlanger, KY and Heath of Lake Andes.

Wanda was a devout christian member of Grace Baptist Church in Lake Andes. She was awarded with her Doctorate Degree from Great Plains Baptist Divinity, Sioux Falls, in May of 2019.

Wanda was a great example of a wife, mother and she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly.

Wanda loved flowers, the outdoors, fishing and people. She spend much time doing for the homeless. She served the Lord as a missionary wife working with and loving the Sioux for 32 years with her husband. Wanda loved going to church.

Wanda leaves behind her husband, Dr. James Schirtzinger, her five children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
