Scott was a very active member of the Wagner community. He was a member of the Lions Club, Fire Department, Rotary, Labor Day Committee, former President of the Chamber of Commerce and a big sponsor of the Wagner Wrestling Club. Work was his life. He was very dedicated to the store and the catering services and fundraiser feeds for many local organizations.

Scott will be remembered for his love of both eating and catering steaks, the Kansas City Chiefs, Nascar races, he was a big fan of Jeff Gordon

Funeral Mass for Scott McAdaragh, 61, of Wagner was held Wednesday, February 26 at St John Catholic Church in Wagner. Burial was in St John Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Scott McAdaragh was born January 4, 1964 at Chamberlain, the son of Dale and Jeri (King) McAdaragh. He died peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Avera St. Benedict Health Center in Parkston.

Scott graduated from Parker High School in 1982. He moved to Wagner with his parents in June of 1982 to own and operate the Wagner Food Center. On May 12, 1988 they had the ribbon cutting of their new store at the present location. When Dale retired Scott took over ownership and continued to work there until his passing.

Scott married Terese Andersh and they raised four kids and worked together at the store.

#24 and Kyle Larson #5, camping, and late 60’s, early 70’s muscle cars. He had a good sense of humor and his favorite movie was Grumpy Old Men.

Thankful for having shared his life are his four children: Dustin (Cristina) McAdaragh of Sioux Falls and their children, Serenity, Ailina, Sasha and Dustin Jr., Katrina McAdaragh of Mitchell and her children, Zane, Davian, Ryken and Deken, Brandon McAdaragh of Armour, and Brett (Mikaela) McAdaragh of Friendswood, TX and their sons, Theodore and Hugh; mother Jeri McAdaragh of Wagner; very special friend Audrey Petrik of Wagner; four brothers and sisters: Debbie (Barry) Swanson of Chamberlain, Terry (Michelle) McAdaragh of South Hadley, MA, Rhonda Stanley of Bagley, IA, and Jeff (Heidi) McAdaragh of Tripp.

Scott was preceded in death by his father Dale McAdarah, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
