Nytalia Isadora Ashes was four years old when she died from a tragic accident in Mankato, MN at the Land of Memories Park on Friday, September 17, 2021.
Nytalia was a surprise baby in September of 2017. She was born and raised in Sioux Falls. She was a bright, happy and outgoing little girl. She was always making friends everywhere she went with her contagious little smile or how she was so outspoken and could hold a conversation with anyone as if she already knew them. Nytalia was such a smart little girl and beyond her years as if she had an “old soul”. She just recently started school this year at R.F. Pettigrew Elementary. School was something she loved and looked forward to. She loved all of her classmates. With family, she was like glue for everyone. She always made sure the family was together for every birthday, holiday, or event. She will continue to be a part of every family gathering even with her gone.
Leaving to celebrate her life are her mother Nyssa Ashes and father Ben Armijo; brothers: Gabriel and Nysenio, all of Sioux Falls; grandparents Nyla Ashes of Sioux Falls and Juan Gomez of Guadalajara, Mexico; her great grandma Velma Ashes; aunt Rhea Ashes and uncle Roger Hare, aunt Nyaley Hernandez; uncle Nysean and family, and uncle Dante Lovejoy who all reside in Sioux Falls; grandma Deambra Ashes of Sioux Falls and grandpa Reginald Ashes and family who reside in Spring Creek. She has a lot of grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many friends and family who loved her so much.
The trip to go the 49th Mankato Wacipi was her first year she was going to dance as a jingle dress dancer. Now in her honor, the powwow committee has made her the Mahkato Princess. The arbor built for the arena will be dedicated to her as well and they plant to name it after her: Wachi Win. Nytalia’s passing was such a shock for everyone that knew of her and knew her personally. She will always be forever in our hearts and always in our thoughts.
