Caryl Arpan, 45, of Wagner, died Sunday, December 16, 2018 at her home in Wagner. Wake services were Monday at the Ihanktonwan Oyate Community Center in Marty. Funeral services were Wednesday, December 19 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Marty. Burial was in the church cemetery. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Caryl Arpan was born to Daryl Arpan, Sr. and Yvonne Stricker on November 19, 1973 at Wagner Indian Health Service. She attended Marty Indian School from Kindergarten through the 10th Grade and completed her Junior year at Crow Creek High School. Caryl successfully attained her GED and had completed some college courses at Ihanktonwan Community College.

Caryl worked for the Yankton Sioux Tribe in the Personnel Office as well as at the YST Daycare and Head Start. She also was an Elementary Special Education paraprofessional and a Cashier at the Fort Randall Casino.

Caryl enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking with her daughter Lexi, watching softball games and signing karaoke with her sister LeeAnne and cousins. She also loved listening to music, watching WWE with her husband Dennis and gambling with family. There was never a dull moment with Caryl! She had an exuberant and bubbly personality. She would always joke around and keep everyone laughing. Her favorite saying was “Let’s Do Dis!”

Caryl is survived by her mother Yvonne, husband Dennis; children Evan, Lexi, Tysin, Tanner, Zayden, Max, and Michael; siblings Daryl, adopted brothers John and Paul Leroy, Narcisse, Gordon Jr., LeeAnne, AJ, Paul, Elk, Willie and Ryan. She is receded in death by her grandparents; Rudy and Amanda Arpan and Henry and Bertha Hare, father Daryl Arpan, Sr. and daughter Tessa Joseph.
