Tyler Joesph Tjeerdsma is a senior at Avon High School, and was born on June 9th, 2006. Tyler is the son of Amber Babutzke and Travis Tjeerdsma, and stepmother Hillary Tjeerdsma. He has 6 siblings, Thayne, Tucker, Hudsyn, and Haliegn Tjeerdsma, as well as Sean and Nick Schryvers. Tyler enjoys playing sports, welding, and making memories with his friends. One of Tyler's proudest moments is placing at state sporting events as an underclassman. Tyler says that high school has prepared him for life outside of AHS because it taught him how to have responsibility and that not everything is going to be handed to him.
Read morePreschool through sixth grade students visited the Avon Fire Hall Thursday, October 12th in honor of Fire Prevention Week. They took a tour of the fire hall and the new rescue truck. Local volunteer fire fighters talked to them about fire prevention and smoke alarms and demonstrated how they cut apart a car using the jaws off life tool.
