Read moreWell this is the last of my session updates as we have brought the 2020 Legislative Session to a close this past week. We have fulfilled our duty to pass a balanced budget for South Dakota and we will return to Pierre for the very last legislative day later this month to consider any final Vetos from the Governor. The Governor did veto two bills before we left Pierre so we will need to evaluate those and any other bills that might be vetoed on the last day.
Read moreThursday, March 12th was the final day of the 95th Legislative Session. On Monday March 30th we will again return to the Capitol for Veto day. As of March 11th, Governor Noem had signed 78 House Bills and 27 Senate Bills leaving 30 bills on her desk. At this point she has two Gubernatorial vetoes. If you aren’t familiar, the Greek god Zeus gave a wedding present to beautiful Pandora but instructed her not to open it. Like many of us, impatience and curiosity got the best of her and she opened it anyway which caused a lot of new problems.

The challenge was divided into two categories; a four-person team and a business challenge. Participants gained points by doing different intensities of physical activity in 20-minute increments.
