Individualswishingtopaytribute to someone special on Memorial weekend may contact the nursing home to purchase an American flag. The name of the person being honored or remembered (one name per flag) and the donor’s name will beplacedonacoloredtagwhich will be tied on the 12x18 stick flag. The color of the tag will signify one of the five giving levels available. One hundred percent of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be used toward residentcenteredprojects at the nursing home. Deadline to purchase a flag is May 22. Everyone is invited to come strollthroughthepatrioticflag display May 23-26.

Willard and Darlene (Buchholz) Goehring were married March 20, 1960 at the Danzig Baptist Church, rural Avon. They have three children, Kim (Keith) Frey, Brian (Jessie) Goehring, Terry (Tracy) Goehring, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In recognition of their 65th wedding anniversary, their family would like to honor them with an open house/card shower: Sunday, May 18 from 2-4 p.m. at the Menno Fire Hall, 302 S. 5th St. They request no gifts.
